Diversity

There should be in the synagogue a home for every Jew, irrespective of color, sex, status as an interfaith family, age or sexual orientation.  Such a radically inclusive approach to community not only strengthens our community.  It models Judaism’s most central and enduring values of justice and compassion.

Rabbi David Cohen

Diversity and inclusion is a core value at Bolton Street Synagogue. We are particularly well-known for our openness and total embrace of interfaith families, Jews by choice, LGBTQ members, and people of color, all of whom are well-represented and well-loved in the Bolton Street family. In recent times, our congregation campaigned actively for marriage equality in Maryland; marched at Baltimore Pride; and hosted monthly gatherings of the Interfaith Community of Roland Park.
